Commissioned in March 1945, HMAS Watson became a purely naval establishment in 1981 with the departure of the Army. Located at Sydney's South Head, it serves as Navy's premier maritime warfare training establishment and is home to the Training Authority Maritime Warfare, responsible for directing the development, implementation, and evaluation of all maritime warfare training.
