Everything you need to know about ordering, designing, paying for and receiving your custom cap.
Ordering
How do I start an order? +
Click here to fill in our enquiry form. We'll be in touch within two business days with your quote.
Who can order a cap? +
Caps are available to current serving Defence members and civilian Defence personnel, such as APS employees. Personal assistants can also order on behalf of a Chief, division, fleet or unit.
Is there a minimum order quantity? +
No. You can order as few or as many caps as you need.
How does the ordering process work? +
It depends on whether your design already exists or needs to be created from scratch.
Existing designs: If we already stock your cap, we'll confirm your details and ask our supplier for a mock-up. This is usually a title embroidered on the back or oak leaves on the brim. Once the mock-up is approved and payment is received, production takes around two weeks.
New designs: If your cap isn't in our range, we'll source artwork or work from a reference photo, and our supplier will produce a mock-up. As with every design, the mock-up goes to Navy Brand for approval. Once it's approved and payment is received, production takes 5–8 weeks.
How long will it take? +
For a new design, allow 8–12 weeks from your first enquiry to delivery. A typical order runs like this:
- Response and quote — 2 business days
- Supplier mock-up — 1 week
- Navy Brand approval — 3 business days
- Invoice — 2 business days
- Production — 5–8 weeks from payment
Design
Do I need to supply artwork? +
No. If you don't have artwork, send us a photo of a reference cap or describe what you're after. We'll source the artwork through Navy Brand or ADF Brand.
Who approves the design? +
Every mock-up, whether for an existing or new design, is reviewed by Navy Brand before you receive your formal quote. If any changes are needed, we'll make them first.
Are your caps compliant with Navy and ADF regulations? +
Yes. All our caps are approved by Navy Brand and ADF Brand and comply with uniform regulations. We produce caps in every category, including:
- Commissioned establishment, ship and squadron ball caps
- Commissioned and non-commissioned diver ball caps
- Submarine and non-commissioned submarine ball caps
- Crewing division and minehunter coastal ball caps
- Non-commissioned ball caps
- Generic ball caps
What are the caps made of? +
All Navy caps are made to the same specifications:
- Heavy brushed cotton or poly-cotton blend
- Six-panel structured crown
- Navy blue (PMS 289)
- Fade-resistant
Payment
How do I pay? +
Once you accept your quote, we'll email you an invoice. Production begins once payment is received.
Can I pay over the phone? +
Yes. Our finance team can take payment over the phone. Just let us know when you approve your quote.
Are there any additional fees? +
Personalisation, such as an embroidered title, costs $10 per cap. Shipping is charged separately, but it's free if your order is delivered to one of our cafés.
Delivery
Can my caps be delivered to one of your cafés? +
Yes. We can deliver your order to any of our cafés for collection, and we'll waive the delivery fee.
Can you stock our cap design at your venues? +
